The Alliance for Women Film Composers elects new leadership and board.
Heather McIntosh and Allyson Newman will step in as Co-Presidents for the AWFC.
The organization has also created the role of Vice President of Outreach and Inclusion, which will be held by Sharon Farber. Esin Aydingoz (Secretary) and Thomas Mikusz (Treasurer) will stay on for another term.
We welcome our new and newly re-elected board members:
Alexandra Petkovski, Catherine Joy, Chanda Dancy, Connor Cook, Daisy Coole, Laura Karpman, Lolita Ritmanis, Mandy Hoffman, Nami Melumad and Starr Parodi.

A message from Ally and I – “As co-presidents of The Alliance for Women Film Composers, we will continue to celebrate and elevate women and non-binary composers at all stages of their careers. During our term we will find and create pathways to educate and support composers, so they are equipped to deal with all aspects of studio level projects in media. We will also direct our focus on workplace safety protocols and protections. As our organization has grown both in the US and internationally, we are creating a new leadership position focusing on outreach and inclusion so that we can celebrate the diversity of our members and find new voices to share with the world. In addition, we are deepening existing collaborations while also forging new partnerships with other organizations and institutions. Together we will advocate for an industry that is truly diverse and inclusive.”
